User Agreement

Section 01

Eligibility & Age Criteria (DPDP Act Compliance)

InternshipUncle is intended for students, recent graduates, and individuals preparing for internship and early-career opportunities. By creating an account or accessing the platform, you represent and warrant that:

• Adult Users: You are at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
• Minor Users (Aged 16 to 17): If you are between 16 and 18 years of age, you represent and warrant that you have obtained the verifiable consent of your parent or lawful guardian to use this service, and that your parent or guardian has agreed to this Agreement and our Privacy Policy on your behalf in compliance with Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
• Under 16 Prohibition: Individuals under 16 years of age are strictly prohibited from creating an account, accessing services, or providing any personal data to InternshipUncle.
• Truthful Information: All information provided during registration, onboarding, and profile creation is accurate, current, and truthful.
• Personal Use: You are using the platform solely for personal, non-commercial career preparation.

We reserve the right to verify user eligibility, request parental verification documents, and immediately terminate any accounts found to be in violation of these age standards.

Section 02

Your Account

You are responsible for your account and everything that happens through it. Specifically:

• Keep your login credentials (Google account) secure and do not share access with anyone.
• Notify us immediately at internshipuncle@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You may only create one account per person. Duplicate or fake accounts will be removed.
• You are responsible for all actions taken under your account, authorized or not.

Section 03

What the App Provides

InternshipUncle provides five core services to help you prepare for internships:

• Discover — A curated board of internship listings. Listings are manually verified and enriched, but we do not guarantee their accuracy or availability at time of application.
• Analyze — AI-powered job description analysis including plain-English summaries, skill gap identification, fit scoring, and prep roadmaps.
• Resume Lab — Resume upload, parsing, AI-powered roasting, bullet rewriting, and PDF export.
• Interview Prep — Role-specific mock interviews with AI scoring and improved answer suggestions.
• Dashboard — A personal readiness score, progress tracker, saved jobs, and upcoming deadlines.

These are tools to support your preparation — they do not guarantee job placement, interview success, or offer outcomes.

If you represent a company and believe a listing is inaccurate, outdated, or should be removed, please contact us at internshipuncle@gmail.com. We will review and remove or update the listing promptly.

Section 04

Acceptable Use

You agree to use InternshipUncle in a lawful, respectful, and fair manner. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Attempting to scrape, copy, or redistribute job listings, AI outputs, or any content from the platform without written permission.
• Using the platform to build competing products or services.
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract our source code or AI prompts.
• Uploading content that infringes on intellectual property rights, contains malware, or is fraudulent.
• Submitting false personal information or impersonating another person.
• Attempting to overload, hack, or disrupt the service through automated requests, injection attacks, or any other means.
• Using the app to harass, defame, or harm others.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account without notice.

Section 05

Content You Upload

You retain full ownership of any content you upload to InternshipUncle — your resume, profile data, and answers during mock interviews are yours.

By uploading content, you grant InternshipUncle a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process and display your content solely for the purpose of delivering the service to you. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account.

• We do not use your personal resume content to train AI models.
• We do not share your resume or interview answers with third parties for marketing or advertising.
• Your uploaded content is processed server-side via our AI backend. It is not stored by AI providers beyond the duration of the request.
• We collect anonymous usage data and crash reports through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to monitor performance and improve app stability.

Section 06

AI-Generated Content

Many features in InternshipUncle — resume roasts, interview feedback, JD analysis, the Uncle Verdict — are powered by AI models (primarily Google Gemini). You should understand the following:

• AI outputs are generated automatically and may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation.
• The "Brutally Honest" tone is an intentional product feature — critical feedback is designed to be actionable, not personal.
• Do not rely solely on AI-generated resume advice or interview scoring as your only source of career guidance.
• We do not guarantee that following AI recommendations will result in a job offer or interview success.
• You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before using it in real applications or interviews.

If you receive AI output that seems harmful, offensive, or clearly incorrect, please report it to us at internshipuncle@gmail.com.

Section 07

Intellectual Property

All elements of InternshipUncle — the brand, UI design, source code, AI prompt architecture, curated job data, and editorial content — are the intellectual property of InternshipUncle and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.

• You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any InternshipUncle content without explicit written permission.
• The InternshipUncle name, logo, and tagline ("Your brutally honest internship copilot") are proprietary trademarks.
• User-generated content (your resume, your answers) remains your intellectual property, subject to the limited license described in Section 05.

Section 08

Disclaimers

InternshipUncle is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• Guarantees that the app will be available 100% of the time, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities.
• Accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content, job listings, fit scores, or readiness assessments.
• Outcomes from using the app, including but not limited to job offers, interview invitations, or career success.

Section 09

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, InternshipUncle, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes:

• Loss of data, opportunities, income, or career prospects.
• Errors or inaccuracies in AI outputs used in real applications or interviews.
• Service interruptions or downtime.
• Unauthorized access to your account by third parties.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim or (b) ₹500 (or equivalent local currency). If the app is free, our liability is capped accordingly.

Section 10

Termination

Either party may end this agreement at any time:

• You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen or web deletion portal. All your data will be permanently deleted within 7 days.
• We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are legally required to do so.
• Termination by us for cause will not entitle you to any refund or compensation.
• Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, governing law, and liability survive termination.

Section 11

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Agreement and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Subject to good-faith mutual escalation, the competent courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any legal suit, action, or proceedings arising out of or related to this Agreement.

Section 12

Changes to These Terms

We may update this User Agreement as our product evolves. When we make changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, we will:

• Update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
• Notify you via an in-app banner or email at least 7 days before changes take effect.
• Give you the opportunity to review and, if you disagree, close your account before the new terms apply.

Continued use of InternshipUncle after the effective date of an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Section 13

In compliance with Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and Section 13 of the DPDP Act, 2023, the details of our Grievance Officer are:
